The season of goodwill?

I know the season of goodwill is supposed to be at Xmas time, but my clients have been getting some excellent results recently - I think this time of year is actually the real season of goodwill, with hearing panels full of the joys of summer.

Yesterday, at the HCPC, my client a former ODP made his plea to be restored to the register, after 8 years away.  He had been struck off for defrauding the NHS and agencies of over £20,000 and subsequently being convicted and sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment.

He had actually made his application before coming to me, but felt on reflection that he needed some help in presenting his case. His was a serious and difficult case, particularly because of the prison sentence.

In the hearing, he reaped the benefits of his decision, as he was able to leave the heavy lifting to me, and concentrate on giving the right evidence on the back of the comprehensive bundle of materials we had worked up together.  He told me, after being rigorously questioned by the HCPC case presenter and the panel members, that there was no way he would have been able to hold it together and handle all of that without help.

It was another long day, starting at 10 and finishing at 5, but the result came in as required - restoration granted.

Yet another happy client restored to his professional register and able to help his colleagues and patients once more. And my record of successful restoration applications is maintained - I don't want to say what it is, in case I jinx it but let's just say it's pretty good ;-)
